SUMMARY OF ELECTRIC RATES

The following is a summary of Medford Electric Utility rates as authorized by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.

These rates have been in effect since June 27, 1997.

Prompt Payment of Bills: A charge of 3%, but not less than 50¢ will be added to bills not paid within 20 days from the date of issuance. This charge is applicable to all customers.

Power Cost Adjustment Clause (PCAC): All energy rates are subject to a positive or negative power cost adjustment clause equivalent to the amount by which the current costs of purchased power is greater or lesser than the base cost of purchased power.

Residential Service Rg-1: 

Customer charge per month $5.00
Energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0465

Applies to residential single-phase customers for ordinary household purposes.

General Service Gs-1:

Customer charge - single phase - per month $5.00
Customer charge - three phase  - per month $10.00
Energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0485

Applies to single and three phase customers, including commercial, institutional, government, farm and other customers where maximum demand does not exceed 40kW for 3 or more months in a consecutive 12-month period.

Residential and General Service Optional Time-of-Day Service Gs-2:

Customer charge - single phase - per month $8.00
Customer charge - three phase  - per month $12.00
On-Peak energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.1000
Off-Peak energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0230

Optional for all Residential and General Service customers. Customers must apply to the Utility for this service, customer shall remain on this rate a minimum of one year and waives all rights to billing adjustments arising from a claim that the bill for service would be less on another rate.

Pricing periods: 

On-peak: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday  excluding certain holidays.

Off-peak: All times not specified as on-peak including all day Saturday, Sunday and the following holidays; New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Small Power Service Cp-1:

Customer charge per month $25.00
Distribution demand charge per kilowatt (kW) $0.50
Billed demand charge per kilowatt (kW) $5.20
Energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.03
Primary metering discount 2.00%
Transformer ownership discount per kilowatt (kW) $0.25

Applies to customers if their demand exceeds 40kW for 3 or more months in a 12 month consecutive period unless the customer exceeds the condition for Cp-2 Service.

Large Power Time-of-Day Service Cp-2:

Customer charge per month $100.00
Distribution demand charge per kilowatt (kW) $0.50
Billed demand charge per kilowatt (kW) $5.20
On-Peak energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0330
Off-Peak energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0230
Primary metering discount 2.00%
Transformer ownership discount per kilowatt (kW) $0.25

Applies to customers if their demand exceeds 200kW for 3 or more months in a 12 month consecutive period unless the customer exceeds the condition for Cp-3 Service.

Industrial Power Time-of-Day Service Cp-3:

Customer charge per month $100.00
Distribution demand charge per kilowatt (kW) $0.50
Billed demand charge per kilowatt (kW) $6.00
On-Peak energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0325
Off-Peak energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0220
Primary metering discount 2.00%
Transformer ownership discount per kilowatt (kW) $0.25

Applies to customers if their demand exceeds 1000kW for 3 or more months in a 12 month consecutive period.

Security Lighting Service G1-1:

Energy charge per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.0317

Available for 175 watt mercury vapor and 100 watt high pressure lights. Customer will own and maintain lights. This schedule is closed to any new mercury vapor lights.
